What is the Fairness Doctrine?
February 19, 2009
Becoming recently aware of the “Fairness Doctrine” and the grave implications it holds for the church, Christian leaders, the next generation, and the freedom of this nation, I thought it noteworthy to direct those in my circle of influence to educate themselves. It is just one of many agendas that is slowly creeping beneath the surface, trying not to make waves, that holds great power to shape the cultural landscape of our nation.
Ironically, the “Fairness Doctrine,” is anything but fair; moreover, it is an attempt by a liberal agenda to control the airwaves and silence one of the few mediums that the conservative voice has. It is an advance to monopolize a liberal voice in virtually all streams of mass media (radio, newspaper, television, broadcasting, internet), of which, the majority are already dominated by a narrowly biased view. The 2008 election was a clear indicator of a new age of journalism that lacked accountability and was driven by a one-sided agenda. Talk radio remains one of the few media vehicles that provides a conservative perspective and the liberal agenda knows this; consequently, they are seeking to remove its influence and opposing perspective by removing its voice. Should the conservative voice be removed, silenced or stifled from this vehicle, there would be no fairness of broadcast journalism, leaving the majority of Americans at the mercy of biased selection, limited information, or no communication at all.
Listed below are some links to help educate you on what the Fairness Doctrine is, with the last link, www.aclj.org (the American Center for Law and Justice), containing a petition against this act. Should these links stir greater interest, you can access many more sites by simply googling the phrase “Fairness Doctrine.”

The Need for Translators – Governing Principles for Economic Crisis
February 17, 2009
Amidst the landscape of economic crisis, it is becoming increasingly more clear that the majority of Americans are at a loss as to what the real issues of the day entail. In spite of the constant reporting from various news stations, it seems that not many can clearly capture the essence of the problem or the proposed “solutions.”
In times like these, there is a clarion call for translators to arise on the scene, specifically people who can interpret the language and literature of the land from a biblical and “kingdom” perspective.
I have stumbled upon two phenomenal articles concerning our current economic situation that have been immensely beneficial in “cutting to the chase” of the real issues at hand. Moreover, they have challenged me to approach the looming decisions with a solid foundation of governing principles (both national and spiritual) and not merely from an emotional or reactive state.

In addition, I found this video to be helpful in presenting a perspective that has been overlooked and understated in this agenda.
